”Always on the lookout for craft creation ideas, this Easter the children decided to decorate drawings and personalise pictures with PhotoBox placemats in mind. From pencil to paint, feathers and pom-poms to tin foil; Lyla and Theo lovingly worked on individual art pieces for each person who will be present at our Easter lunch. We then took photos of the artwork, before uploading them to the PhotoBox site and ordering our placemats.

First on the list was Lyla and a felt tip drawing of herself with much treasured toy Flopsy, doubling up as our table’s Easter bunny. Mummy gets a leopard print picture, as this is my favourite fashion print. A healthy dose of love hearts in the background, Lyla used all the resources she had to hand. To ensure an extra special effect, we framed pictures on coloured paper, metallic sheets and stickers, choosing strips of card as borders.

The children call their maternal grandparents Amma and Bampa, with my Dad’s mat playing host to a spring lamb painted outside in the sunshine. Not remotely Easter themed but very Theo, Lyla plumped for a seal when decorating her brother’s placemat picture, as he likes all sea life at the moment. Emptying the art drawers we found cotton wool and tinfoil to stick on.

A lovely, memorable way to keep their art in pristine condition and use every day; the placemats are a stunning table centrepiece. Whether you are looking to mark a family occasion such as Easter, provide unique grandparent gifts or simply store the kids’ drawings, PhotoBox placemats are a fun and practical way to do it. For us, the daily treat of looking at the time we spent working on these mats together is a magical mealtime moment. ”

Thanks, Mummy Mode – we love this idea! For your chance to win 3 sets of placemats to add your children’s art to, simply let us know what they love to draw in the comments below…
